I was inspired to set up this site after reading “Show Your Work!” By Austin Kleon.

I really envy people that have one main interest or hobby and can dedicate all of their time to a specific topic, whether that be through their job or on social. I personally find that I’m more of a generalist – attracted to many creative pursuits that I flit between as my interests oscillate and shift. Sometimes I’m focussed on DIY projects, other times it will be design, I’m also into PC building, TV & movies, painting miniatures, personal finance and am currently finding myself really into Dungeons and Dragons (for example). As a result I tend to avoid getting particularly involved in any single platform or community.

At the same time, I have often toyed with the idea of having a blog but while I might occasionally want to write a long blog post about something, I definitely wouldn’t be inclined to keep it up on a regular basis. I also had a portfolio site before but it was set it up for potential employers and thus it felt like ‘work’ and wasn’t something I actively engaged in or even bothered to keep up to date. It had been sitting unchanged since 2014.

This site will serve as one place where I can document and share all of my creative pursuits in whatever format they take, be it blogs, microblogs, videos or images – all in one simple timeline with a quick and easy way to filter between interests and in a way that feels natural and won’t be a compromise or a burden.
